Color as a Point of Attention

Small areas of color repeatedly guide the eye through these photographs. A red shirt stands sharply against a warm yellow building. A single poppy pulls focus away from a bicycle and toward the edge of a rural path. Pink roses connect a wall of foliage to a small detail near a parked wheel. At night, red and green signs illuminate wet pavement while bicycles remain dark around them. These colors do not need to cover much of the frame to become structural elements. Their placement creates links between foreground and background, object and reflection, or natural growth and manufactured form. Muted stone, shadow, grass, and metal make the brighter accents feel especially deliberate, even when the moment itself appears unarranged.
